Pasadena-based MyShape has raised $12M in a round of venture capital, the company’s CEO, Louise Wannier, confirmed Monday after reports that the firm had closed a round of funding, but said the round was still in progress. The funding came from Lehman Brothers Venture Partners and also included prior lead Draper Fisher Jurvetson, along with local angel groups the Pasadena Angels and the Tech Coast Angels…. (more)

Bringing together the worlds of computer graphics, Hollywood and Facebook, Intel is set to kick off its Mass Animation collaboration on Nov. 17, running through Jan. 30, 2009. Participants will animate individual shots from the 5-minute, professional-quality short film via Mass Animation’s Facebook application, which uses Autodesk Maya 3-D modeling and animation software. The community on Facebook will then view and vote on their favorite shots. If their shots make the final cut, animators will receive compensation, a portion of the film’s potential earnings and credit in the film. Based on the community’s votes, Mass Animation will award computer systems based on Intel processors to select contributors.
