Pasadena-based X1 Technologies announced Monday that it has appointed a new Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. The firm said it has appointed John Maxwell to the position, to lead the marketing initiatives for the firm. According to X1, Maxwell joins the company from MTI Technology, where he also served at VP of Marketing. Maxwell has also served at Veritas Software and Sun Microsystems. X1 is a maker of enterprise search software for finding documents.

Tapestry Solutions, a San Diego-based provider of services and software for tracking equipment and spare parts for the U.S. Department of Defense, has been acquired by The Boeing Company, Boeing said late last week.
