San Marino, California-based Bankaholic, an online site providing information about certificates of deposit, savings accounts, and money market accounts, has been acquired by Bankrate, Inc., Bankrate said Tuesday afternoon. Bankrate said paid $12.4M for Bankaholic, with an additional $2.5M in earn-out. Bankrate said that John Wu, the founder and sole employee of Bankaholic, will work with the firm for a specified period of time during the transition…. (more)

San Diego-based Sequenom, a provider of genetic analysis products, said Tuesday that it has agreed to acquire the Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM), a clinical diagnostics laboratory based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. According to Sequenom, it will pay approximately $4.0M to acquire CMM, in addition to receiving a tax incentive valued at $20M over 12 years. CMM is a joint venture between Spectrum Health and Van Andel Research Institute.

Irvine-based YouMail, a provider of a customized voicemail service, announced a partnership today with IMMIX Wireless, a wireless carrier based in Pennsylvania. YouMail said that it will enable IMMIX Wireless to provide its customers with its free cell phone voicemail service. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed…. (more)
