Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal announced Wednesday that the firm has expanded into Canada, and opened up a new sales office in Toronto for its online marketing services. The venture-backed firm, which helps small and medium sized businesses place Internet advertising, said that its first Canadian location will cater to local businesses in the Greater Toronto area. Los Angeles-based SheKnows.com, the online women’s site owned by AtomicOnline, announced Wednesday that the firm has signed a content syndication partnership with Hearst Magazines Digital Media. According to SheKnows, it will feature select articles each month from Cosmopolitan.com, MarieClaire.com, HouseBeautiful.com, Redbookmag.com, and GoodHousekeeping.com. San Diego-based ProQuo, a venture-backed startup focused on helping consumers manage junk mail, said Wednesday that it has launched a new web site focused on helping consumers manage credit card offers. According to the firm, its new service will allow consumers to stop unwanted ‘pre-approved’ credit card offers, and will help consumers pinpoint cards that will save them the most money…. (more)

Los Angeles-based SpiritClips said today that it has launched a new web site, focused on short films that “impart compassion, hope, courage and strength.” The site, which was created by producer Rob Fried (producer of “Rudy” and “So I Married an Axe Murderer”) allows users to watch and share films with other users.
