Los Angeles-based OnDemand Solutions, a provider of strategic consulting in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) market, has been acquired by a Reston, Virginia firm, Mural Consulting. Mural Consulting did not disclose financial terms of the deal, but said that the consulting will expand its offices to Los Angeles. Julie Citroen and Mike Jalonen, co-founder of OnDemand, are joining Mural Consulting as part of the deal. OnDemand helped independent software vendors on their software-as-a-service efforts.

Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Technologies said Friday that it is in an agreement to acquire the defense electronics business of Filtronic PLC. The deal is worth approximately $25.7M. Filtronic PLC’s Defense Electronics business develops microwave subassemblies and integrated subsystems to the defense industry; those components are used in radar, electronic support, and electronic counter measures systems. According to Teledyne, the Defense Electronics business of Filtronic had revenues of approximately $28.6M US in its fiscal year, ended May 31.

Santa Barbara-based EZ-Assure, a provider of software for managing physical security, parking equipment, and auditing facility security, is raising $800,000 in a Series A1 round, the bulk of which has already closed. Investors in the round include the Tech Coast Angels, the Pasadena Angels, high net worth individuals, the firm’s board and employees. According to Mike Hopkins, CEO of the firm, the round began in January of this year, and was oversubscribed; the last closing is expected August 9th and will bring the total raised in this round to $800,000.

El Segundo-based International Rectifier, a developer of analog and mixed signal ICs, said Thursday that it has named Tim Phillips as the firm’s new Vice President of its Enterprise Power Business Unit. Phillips has been at IR since 2001, and has previously served at Cherry Semiconductor. Phillips will head up product development, systems applications engineering and product marketing for IR’s power supply products, including ICs, MOSFETS, voltage regulators, and other products.

Santa Monica-based GumGum, a provider of technology for licensing content and images online, said Thursday that it has raised a Series A round of financing. The round was co-led by First Round Capital and Crosscut Ventures. Along with the financing, Howard Morgan of First Round Capital, and Brian Garrett of Crosscut Ventures have both joined the firm’s board of directors. This is the first investment of Crosscut Ventures, which was founded by Garrett and Rick Smith, both formerly venture capitalists at Palomar Ventures. The firm said the new funding will go towards Version 2 of the firm’s product. Amont of the new round was not disclosed.
