Los Angeles-based live video streaming web site Stickam.com will start allowing its users to charge people who want to watch their live video streams, the firm said today. Stickam said its new PayPerLive service allows anyone with a computer, Web cam, and Internet connection to host and charge for live events on the site. The service–currently available in a limited beta–is targeted at entertainers, teachers, consultants, bands, and others who want to charge access for their video streams. The firm said that it will take 25 percent of the profits of user-hosted events, in a tiered revenue-sharing program.

El Segundo-based Vantage Media, a provider of search marketing services, said today that it has signed on Allied Van Lines as a customer. According to Vantage Media, Allied Van Lines will use the company to manage all search marketing for the firm on an exclusive basis. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Vantage Media said that Allied van Lines is one of the largest moving companies in the U.S. The deal also calls for Allied to use Vantage’s email marketing services. Steve Jillings, CEO of Vantage Media, had disclosed the relationship with Allied Van Lines in an interview with socalTECH in June.

Los Angeles-based Userplane has scored another win with a online community site, this time with KickApps. According to New York-based KickApps, it has partnered with Userplane to integrate Userplane’s live chat, instant messaging, and presence functionality into its platform, which is used to create branded online communities for companies and brands. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. KickApps said it has integrated Userplane’s WebChat and Webmessenger products as core features of its platform, which can be enabled by its customers on a self-service basis…. (more)
