San Diego-based storage as a service firm Nirvanix and Aliso Viejo-based 3Tera, a provider of grid computing technology, said today that the two have partnered on a joint offering. According to the firms, the two are in a partnership where they will offer cloud computing services to companies which includes both storage from Nirvanix and virtual appliances from 3Tera. Nirvanix operates an online storage service which can be used by third party developers to store data, video, images, and other files; 3Tera’s grid operating systems are used for utility computing.

Los Angeles-based Spot Runner, which provides a web-based method of buying pre-produced television advertising, said yesterday that it has named a new President and hired a CFO. John Gentry has been named President of the firm, reporting to Nick Grouf; Samuel Paisley has joined the firm as Chief Financial Officer. Gentry was most recently Chief Revenue Officer for Spot Runner, and has been at the firm since 2005. Paisley joins the company from ValueClick, where he served at various times as Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operations Officer. Spot Runner operates an online service targeted at businesses looking to place local television advertising.

Los Angeles-based social networking web site MySpace and telecom carrier Sprint said today that the firms have launched a mobile version of MySpace on Sprint’s web-enabled phones. According to the firms, the new MySpace Mobile web site will be a free service, and allow Sprint data subscribers to track their MySpace profiles on their phones. The launch marks the official launch of MySpace’s Mobile web site, which was previously available as a beta. The mobile site is part of a deal Sprint and Fox Interactive Media signed in December.

Irvine-based Greenlight Wireless, which provides services and software to convert web pages into mobile formats, said yesterday that it has signed on Orange Madagascar S.A. as a customer. Orange Madagascar is a provider of wireless services in the country of Madagascar. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Greenlight Wireless, Orange Madagascar will use the firm’s Skweezer Private Label technology for its mobile Internet portal. The technology will be used to make web sites WAP and mobile friendly for Orange’s subscribers.

Burbank-based Mefeedia said yesterday that the firm has launched a new video search site, targeted at searching across multiple video sites. The firm’s service is targeted at helping users find video from sites such as YouTube, DailyMotion, Metacafe, Hulu, CNN, and other sites; according to the company, its search services cover 15,000 video sites. Mefeedia allows users to search for video based on date, related terms, shows, and via categories. Among the sites that the firm is indexing are web video producers such as BoingBoing TV and 60Frames; video blogs; and news and TV sites.
